Listen, Heavens, I have something to tell you. Attention, Earth, I’ve got a mouth full of words.
My teaching, let it fall like a gentle rain,
my words arrive like morning dew,
Like a sprinkling rain on new grass,
like spring showers on the garden.
For it’s God’s Name I’m preaching—
respond to the greatness of our God!
The Rock: His works are perfect,
and the way he works is fair and just; a God you can depend upon, no exceptions, a straight-arrow God.
His messed-up,mixed-up children, his non-children, throw mud at him but none of it sticks.
(Deuteronomy 32:1-9 (MSG))
Such a lovely song in that mouth full of words! And I must echo his message. God’s love shows up in many ways. Here it is seen in a gentle love song:
His words fall like a gentle rain, my words arrive like morning dew, Like a sprinkling rain on new grass, like spring showers on the garden.
It’s God’s Name being spoken and we needs must respond to the greatness of our God! He IS the Creator! He is responsible for offering salvation! He is providing an ETERNITY of goodness and joy! Jesus is the Rock! Strength, surety, forcefulness, grit~ all encompassed in Who Jesus is. No enemy can overcome us when we have God indwelling us! He is the Rock Who stands as our Foundation, and standing on Him, we are secure always!
A God you can depend upon, no exceptions,
a straight-arrow God.
On the other hand, we are His messed up children, all mixed up, deceived by the world, gutless to stand up for the truth. In this world where political correctness rules, do we stand up and say, “No!”? Or do we stand with the world and throw mud at our Holy God? It is a choice!
6-7 Don’t you realize it is God you are treating like this? This is crazy; don’t you have any sense of of reverence?
As for me and my house, we stand for our mighty God giving Him the reverence that is due to Him! Isn’t this your Father who created you, who made you and gave you a place on Earth?
The writer of Deuteronomy advises the people to research their past. That is good advice! It is recommended for us to also look carefully at our past, our roots, our heritage. Who wrote our Constitution? They were Christian men and our Constitution is based on Biblical concepts, and that is what grew the US into a strong nation the like of which never before existed.
Read up on what happened before you were born;
dig into the past, understand your roots.
Ask your parents what it was like before you were born; ask the old-ones, they’ll tell you a thing or two.
God gave us our place on earth, and set boundaries for us. He left us under the care of divine guardians. As we live out each day as a nation, we must know and claim our heritage as “One nation under God”. That is being challenged now! We must stand up and join together in prayer for God to release our Guardians to help us battle the enemy’s army that is fighting so hard against us.
8-9 When the High God gave the nations their
stake, gave them their place on Earth,
He put each of the peoples within boundaries
under the care of divine guardians.
It is also critical for us to continue to back Israel in their battle against the enemy. It is an ancient enemy and a cruel one, but with our prayers joined with Israel, our God will prevail. For the Israelites are His special people.
But God himself took charge of his people, took Jacob
on as his personal concern.
Let us bind together in prayer for our nation! Only in prayer can we fully defeat the enemy! Will you join or form a prayer group at your church to pray for our country?
