What do you do when the demon is revealed?
In the dream I saw Jesus walking down a corridor of people. At the beginning there was light but the corridor continued into a darkness. Voices at the start were happy and excited, but as He continued to walk, the voices before Him changed to murmurs and complaints. As Jesus proceeded, nearby faces contorted wrathfully and curses were called out. Then the voices further along the aisle became hideous and vile.
At the finish of the corridor stood the huge repulsive figure of evil, satan himself. The laughter from his repugnant mouth was a most repelling sound. He raised his hands and brought them down to squash Jesus, but Jesus had moved aside and satan’s hands never touched Him. The enemy could not come close to Jesus, so satan called for his fellow demons to encircle the Savior. Growling and roaring they began to close in. But when they pounced where Jesus had been, Jesus was gone; immediately He reappeared above them, glowing with an ever brightening heavenly intensity which revealed the hideous nature of the creatures; as they saw their own grotesqueness, they ran from the light; in great anger satan too retreated.
Each person in the corridor of people could see the horrible ugliness within themselves; in some it was dark and demon filled and in others mere smirches. Jesus’ light revealed to all what was hiding in their souls. Anger rose from some, tears of sorrow from others.
This is the dream-picture. What is the solution? From an inhabiting demon to a mere touch of one, Jesus light reveals the truth of evil within. What are we to do with it?
This next picture is not a dream, it is the answer and it is truth:
The earth was full of human beings when Jesus came down from heaven to become one of them, except Jesus was born with a divine nature and not a sinful nature. He was born of God not of a human father, yet His mother Mary was fully human. Jesus went through growing up experiences as every person does; He also grew in wisdom and knowledge, which originated with much time spent with His Father in prayer.
When Jesus was 33 years old, the enemy stirred up in the hearts of the people a murdering spirit, an ugly repellant demon. It worked in the hearts until Jesus was captured, unjustly tried, condemned to terrible torture and crucifixion. However, what the enemy thought of as victory was truly complete defeat. After three days, Jesus rose from the dead and now can live inside of humans ~ we are rescued from the enemy hands, freed from our sin debt, and it all came from Jesus' sacrifice for us. The result is when we choose Jesus as our Lord and Savior, our sin debt is marked “paid in full”. Then in serving Jesus as our King, we are given Holy Spirit as our indwelling Helper, Counselor, and Guide.
Truth portrayed in the dream-picture above, shows us Jesus is the light that reveals our true selves. We see our sin and repent, and it is gone and forgotten. We enter into the heavenly places right into God’s presence. Our nature has been changed from a sinful nature to the nature of God; He is our Father and His “DNA” is in us now. We become brand new! We’re translated into and become citizens of Jesus’ Kingdom.
As the gleaming light of truth reveals the sin and evil within us, we have a choice to walk through the streaming shower of repentance to be freed and cleansed, or to remain in the ugliness of sin and rebellion. Jesus is the light that satan cannot touch. When we have the Holy Spirit, God Himself, indwelling us, satan cannot touch us. We are protected. Our nearness to God keeps the enemy at bay. As Jesus spent time talking with the Father each day, so must we. In the book, Cast Up A Highway, there are suggestions for building an intimate relationship with God and maintaining that closeness. This gives us a mighty shield, a hedge of protection always around us.
