Mommy! Mommy! Come quick! Make them stop! Call Daddy! He can make them stop! With tearful eyes I watched from my bedroom window as bulldozers began toppling my trees. The woods behind my house, our playground, was being destroyed. My heart was distraught. My Mom explained Daddy could not stop them. It was my first realization that my daddy could not do everything. He was limited in power.
Our Almighty Daddy in heaven is never limited in power. He can do all things! And He loves us even more than our earthly parents can! He rejoices in us and provides us with all good things!
God raised us up from death when He raised up Christ Jesus. He has given us a place with Christ in the heavens. 7 He did this to show us through all the time to come the great riches of His loving-favor. He has shown us His kindness through Christ Jesus.
It was also my first remembered lesson that good can come from “bad” situations. After they got rid of all my trees, they began to build houses, and that became our new playground. We climbed all over those houses under construction becoming proficient at playing tag on rafters and running on roofs. Our pockets carried just the right piece of wood that would open locking mechanisms on interior doors without handles, so we never got locked in a room. We were fearless and it was a glorious time, and full of many kinds of games our parents would have paled over. Our guardian angels were kept plenty busy. TBC
