Mourning. Death. Crushing tears of sadness, disappointment, and fear. In confusion they gather in the upper room. They have laid His precious body in the darkness of a tomb. The darkness almost seems to fill the room they are in.
Some mysterious time in that gloom and shadow between Friday and Sunday a miracle happened. They found only His garments folded neatly on the slab. The huge stone was moved showing the opening to the tomb, exposing its emptiness.
Friends ran to see and confirm He was gone. A few were astounded and overjoyed to see Him and speak with Jesus, their friend, master, teacher, Son of God! The rest doubting and bewildered returned to the upper room.
Today when I am crushed and brokenhearted, where do I go? Do I curl in my victim’s pain and hide in the darkness? When I ask for a miracle, do I wait in faith and see the empty tomb as a promise? Do I trust the risen Christ to bring my miracle? Do I allow the light and bond of His covenant Word to bring me out of the darkness and into the light?
Friends, allow your road to lead you daily to the new dawn of an Easter morning. Yes! Allow Easter joy to enter and overflow in your life every day! He is risen!! Christ has risen from the dead! Hallelujah!
