Matthew 18:2-3 (AMP) And He called a little child to Himself and put him in the midst of them, And said, Truly I say to you, unless you repent (change, turn about) and become like little children [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving], you can never enter the kingdom of heaven [at all].
This beautiful picture has been hanging on our wall for years and it never fails to touch my heart. Seeing a joyful Jesus playing in a field with children from many nations always brings a smile to my face. The kids look so carefree and happy. We are the children of God, and He calls for us to be like little children. . . trusting, loving, humble, forgiving.
Some days make me want to be a kid again ~ I want someone to take care of me, so I can be worry free, no stress. Do you ever get tired of dealing with adversity and problems? Wouldn’t you like a ‘parent’ to come and make it all better? Ok, some humor here; but in reality we do have someone, a Father, who loves us and is willing to take care of us. He knows our every sorrow, need, and fear, and He is just waiting for us to ask for help.
Our Lord Jesus truly desires us to come and share our hearts with Him. He loves us so much, He gave everything up for us. We are blessed to have a God Who has a deep fondness for us, and wants us to reach deeper, closer, nearer to HIM. With a strong God-connection, many of our problems and fears get deleted. When we know God and His character, we can fully trust Him to take care of us and our troubles. [What a relief!]
Some people have had bad experiences growing up with an abusive father figure, and they have a very difficult time relating to God the Father. How sad that is, but remember that our heavenly Father loves us dearly. If you are in this situation, pray and ask Him for help. He will be there for you!! His heart desires to comfort and heal us. He is gentle and kind and loving; He is fully trust worthy! Be a child and trust Him.
