Are you excited and ready to dance? Do you know this week we celebrate the most basic truth of Christianity?! This truth was locked up until Jesus bought us the keys. We celebrate this basic truth this week, that Jesus, the Son of God, came to this earth to fulfill the plan of the Father. This plan was conceived by God at the beginning of creation. God wanted children who would know Him and share a loving relationship with Him, just as we long for children to love and be loved by them. Our longing comes from our Creator’s heart. Its the same longing and we inherited it from our Father God. He longs for a closeness with us, a sharing of our hearts.
When He created us He endowed us with a free will. He did not want robots, He wanted us to choose to live in a close intimate relationship with Him. He also knew that we would sin. . . choose to disobey Him, give into the temptations the enemy brings us, and follow and worship other gods. . . like greed, lust, power, self. Thus it would be impossible to be close to our good God in this sin-full state; God is good personified and any evil would burn up if it got close (like paper to a match)
Jesus chose to solve the dilemma. He stepped forward and volunteered to pay our sin debt that we might be forgiven and robed in His righteousness. In this new state, covered by Jesus’ righteousness, we are able to come not just close, but have a deep and personal relationship with the Father knowing His very heart. He comes and indwells us when we accept Jesus’ gift and invite Him into our hearts.
And so Jesus, born of a virgin, arrived upon earth in a quiet stable. He was raised by humble parents and as He grew in wisdom and knowledge, He came to know His purpose and fulfill it. He taught us about His Father who loves us joyfully and delights in us. He taught us about the character of His Father, His faithfulness and His mighty love for us. Then Jesus went through a torturous death to pay the sin debt that we all inherited from our human forefather.
This Sunday we celebrate Easter~Jesus triumphal resurrection from the dead! Jesus was dead and now He lives forevermore. He is risen! And we celebrate our own resurrection from the death of our soul that sin brings, and our triumphant resurrection to a new life in Jesus. When we accept this wondrous gift that Jesus brings us, we enter into His kingdom. . .
Colossians 1:13-14 (Amplified Bible) [The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in Whom we have our redemption through His blood, [which means] the forgiveness of our sins.
. . . and live our life with Him freed from our sin prison, able to live a full and abundant life under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We are able to actually know God, and have a close loving relationship with Him, converse with Him, be in His very Presence. We are empowered to live a new life here on earth where we will continually grow in wisdom and closeness and bloom in unknown joys all the way into eternity.
How well do you know Jesus? Have you accepted His gift?
